HydroFerm

HydroFerm's regenerative water technology, RWT, is used to treat water systems with eutrophication problems. The photosynthetic bacterium Rhodopseudomonas palustris plays a central role, as it can break down organic matter without consuming oxygen. At the same time, in an anaerobic bottom environment, it counteracts methane formation and breaks down hydrogen sulphide. R. palustris and a selected consortium of fermentation microbes have been inoculated into clay balls. These act as dispersal colonies that, step by step, break down and counteract a high organic load in water systems.
