Mykorrhiza Sportytor

The symbiosis between the plant's roots and the fungal mycelium, together with the growth-promoting microbes in the soil profile, repairs and optimises fundamental ecosystem services. The product strengthens the microbial bridge in the rhizosphere, which gives better protection, growth and vitality.

Mycorrhiza and soil microbes together build optimal health

Mycorrhiza means fungus and root, which describes the symbiosis between the plant's roots and the fungal hyphae/mycelium. The fungus cannot live without a host plant, so it does everything it can to keep the plant alive. In return the plant supplies energy-rich carbon compounds from photosynthesis, and growth hormones that make the mycelium grow. Through the mycelium's extended reach and function, the plant can take up more nutrients, vitamins, antioxidants and trace elements. From these substances and the bacteria in the plant, it can form probiotic compounds that protect it against airborne pathogens.

At the same time the mycorrhiza forms glomalin, which helps protect the roots against root pathogens and other antagonists. Glomalin also improves soil structure by binding small particles together into larger aggregates. This creates larger pores and better drainage, while more water becomes available because it is not held as tightly by the soil. Mycorrhiza (AMF) multiplies the plant's ability to keep a good water balance and makes nutrient uptake considerably more efficient. Combined with microbes, nitrogen uptake can increase tenfold.

Mycorrhiza and soil microbes together build optimal growth

Close cooperation between mycorrhiza and growth-promoting microbes in the root zone strengthens the active microbial bridge in the soil, which gives growth and cost efficiency.

Environmental impact
The microbial bridge in the soil optimises mineralisation and releases all the macro- and micronutrients the plant needs. The method works best without mineral fertiliser and plant protection products.
Soil structure
A large, active microbiome stores carbon and nitrogen in the soil – more carbon in turn gives better soil structure, and so a soil that can hold considerably more water, nutrients and air. The mycorrhizal hyphae contain glomalin, a substance made of carbon and nitrogen. Glomalin can remain in the soil for more than 25 years.
Water management
A well-functioning soil structure can both absorb and hold considerably more water – a must in a changing climate with more extreme weather.
Protection against disease
Mycelium and microbes act as a protective barrier against plant diseases by competing with pathogenic organisms for nutrients and by producing substances that inhibit the growth of pathogens.
Nutrient uptake
The cooperation between mycelium and soil microbes multiplies the plant's ability to take up nutrients. The microbial bridge also produces growth-promoting hormones, amino acids and other metabolites that strengthen growth and optimise the plant's immune defence. Free-living nitrogen-fixing microbes deliver nitrogen in organic form to the plant and the mycorrhiza.

Application

  • Mix the product in a bucket, then add it to the sprayer.
  • Apply with a spray vehicle or walk-behind sprayer at no more than 3 bar pressure.
  • Aerate the turf to root depth and top-dress before application.
  • Water lightly after application.
  • Avoid plant protection products during establishment, the first 3–4 weeks.
  • The treatment is followed up with an analysis report.

Mykorrhiza Sportytor

What results can you expect?

Organic matter is mineralised by the mycorrhiza
Counteracts thatch and releases nutrients to the plant.
Reduces the need for irrigation
The mycelial network can hold and reach more water.
Optimises the plant's own defences
The formation of glomalin and the increased uptake of vitamins, antioxidants and other trace elements improve the plant's ability to resist pathogens.
Increases the plant's tolerance of biotic and abiotic stress
Through the increased biomass, the plant reaches important substances that help it cope with biological and physical stress.
Minimal leaching of nutrients to surrounding soil and water
The concept also works for clubs in areas with restrictions.
Contributes to more stable establishment
Improves the plant's ability to cope with high temperatures and elevated salinity
